A very rare Lowestoft porcelain coffee cup made as a replacement for a Worcester or Liverpool service, and decorated with the Queens Floral pattern. This pattern dates to c1765 at Worcester and I suggest this cup was made c1770-75, possibly a little later. Most English factories made replacement items, more commonly as replacements for Chinese services. The Lowestoft porcelain factory didn’t use this handle shape as standard, but did when copies where ordered. Here is another Lowestoft replacement cup decorated with the Queen Charlotte pattern https://shop.englishporcelainonline.com/product/rare-queen-charlotte-pattern-coffee-cup-c1770-90/?v=79cba1185463 . Unlike Worcester and Liverpool examples of this pattern, the cup is quite heavy, the glaze and paste also screams Lowestoft, as does the foot.
The cup measures 8.1cm in diameter including the handle and stands 6.5cm tall.
It is in excellent condition without damage or restoration. There is slight wear to the gilding from age and usage.
Unmarked.
Mrs D MacCallum collection label to the inside.
