Very Rare Lunds Bristol Floral Pattern Vine Leaf Pickle Dish c1749-51

A Very rare Lunds Bristol pickle dish, moulded in a vine leaf shape and hand painted with a floral pattern c1749-51.

The dish measures 10cm in length including the handle and 7.7cm in diameter.

It is in amazing condition without any damage or restoration. There is some kiln speckling to the glaze from manufacture.

Unmarked.

At the time of writing The origins of Worcester porcelain by Ray Jones there where 3 examples of this rare dish know.

The 1st was sold by Simon Spero. The 2nd was part of the Billie Pain collection sold at Bonhams November 2003 lot 99 for £4200. This example had a short crack and a small chip. The 3rd Example was sold at Christies in December 2004 lot 322 for £6573. This last example can be found here

Very Rare Lund’s Bristol Vine Leaf Pickle Dish at Christies

There are no examples of this rare shaped Lunds dish within the Victoria and Albert Museum’s collection.
