An exceeding rare Lowestoft porcelain saucer, hand painted with a Chinese river scene with two houses beside a tall tree c1760-63.
The saucer measures 11.4cm in diameter.
There are three short hairlines to the rim. No other damage or any restoration.
Marked to the foot with 14 (workman’s mark).
There are only two known examples of this pattern. The other was sold at Bonhams in 2007 part of the Ian and Susi Sutherland sale and is currently in a private collection in Lowestoft. Steven Goss illustrates it in his book British Blue and White porcelain saucers.
