A good Worcester saucer of facetted shape decorated with the “Rich Queens” pattern c.1775
This decoration is derived from the style of Japanese Kakiemon porcelain from the 17th/18th century and is enhanced with rich gilding.
Both Sun and Banded Hedge motifs, typical Japanese decoration, are incorporated within this pattern
See Zorensky Part 11. Lot 158 for a chocolate cup and saucer in the same pattern
The base is marked with an underglaze blue fret mark often found matched with decoration of this type.
The saucer measures 13.8 cm in diameter
Condition is excellent with just slight rubbing to the gilded rim and no chips, cracks or restoration
