Very Rare Seth Pennington Initialed Bird on a Branch Pattern Saucer c1780-85 Ex Goss Collection

A very rare Seth pennington Liverpool porcelain saucer, hand painted with the Bird on a branch pattern and initialed WS c1780-85.

The Saucer measures 13.7cm in diameter.

Nibbles to the rim and staining to the paste. No Cracks or restoration.

Unmarked.

Ex Steven Goss and David and Jan Birley collections.

Illustrated on pg 203, British Blue and white porcelain Saucers edition II, by Steven Goss. Steven states that this was possibly made as a replacement for an earlier dated Philip Christin WS initialed saucer, giving this as a possible reason why sa date is omitted.
