Very Rare Early Worcester Flowering Grasses Pattern Cream Jug c1752-53

A very rare 1st period Worcester porcelain ribbed baluster cream jug with scroll handle, hand painted with a flowering grasses in the famille verte style c1752.

The jug measures 7.9cm in diameter including the handle and stands 8.5cm tall.

Excellent condition except for two tiny chips to the rim, there is no other damage or any restoration. There is a firing crack to the base terminal of the handle from manufacture.

Unmarked.

A Jug is this pattern was sold at Bonhams in 2014. For a slightly later similarly decorated sauceboat from the crane collection . Also see the Klepser collection for a vase in this rare pattern.
