Uncommon Immortelle Pattern Saucer c1770-75 Woodthorpe-Browne Collection

£225.00

Out of stock

A good and uncommon reeded Lowestoft saucer hand painted in under glaze blue with the “Onion or Immortelle” pattern c.1770/75
This pattern was derived from earlier Meissen porcelain and was copied by many English and continental factories in the mid to late 18th century and can even be found on 20th century porcelain tea and dinner services.
See Goss P.185 No. 349 for an identical saucer

The base is marked with the crossed swords in direct imitation of Meissen porcelain. There is also a label to the base for the famous Sutherland Collection which was sold at auction by Bonhams in October 2007.

The saucer measures 11.9 cm in diameter

Condition is excellent with just a tiny glazed over factory firing flaw to the rim
