A Rare Vauxhall porcelain teapot hand painted in underglaze blue with an island landscape pattern c1756-60
The teapot measures 14cm across from handle to spout and stands just 10cm tall with the cover in place.
Professional restoration to the tip of the spout. The cover has been broken in half and repaired some considerable time ago with a metal band round the rim. The band may well be silver but it has tarnished.
Unmarked.
See Ceramics of Vauxhall published by the English Ceramics Circle for illustrations of a range of Vauxhall porcelain including several teapots of varying sizes.
