A rare Lowestoft porcelain octagonal tea canister and cover, hand painted with the Mansfield pattern c1768-70.
The canister measures 7cm in diameter and stands 9.5cm tall with the cover in place.
Excellent condition. Except for a fault to the body which looks to be from manufacture, and a chip to the cover. There is a little staining to the neck of the canister. The yellowing to the inside of the cover is the remains of an old collectors label.
Marked to the base.
From the collection of Robert Woodthorpe Browne. Ex Alison Bremner Collection.
