A Lowestoft coffee pot or jug, transfer printed in blue with the dark landscape pattern, C1790.
It measures 14cm (5.5″) in diameter including the handle and stands 19.2cm (7 9/16″) high.
It is in excellent condition except for a small chip to the spout and it is missing it’s cover.
Unmarked
Personally I think this was made as a covered jug, which is what Geoffrey Godden states in his book Lowestoft Porcelain. However Sheenah Smith (Lowestoft porcelain in the Norwich castle museum) argues that it was made as a Coffee pot.
