A large Worcester porcelain tankard with scale blue ground finely painted with groups of Kakiemon flower sprays in imitation of Japanese porcelain from the early 18th century c1770
The tankard measures 14.8cm across including handle and stands 14.9cm tall
Display condition is very good with just a two fine hairline from the rim and a very faint star crack to the base.
The base is clearly marked with a fretted square in imitation of early oriental porcelain
Worcester produced a wide range of wares in the 1770’s decorated with this scale blue ground and various different floral and bird scenes within the gilded cartouches.
