A good Worcester fluted saucer hand painted in underglaze blue with the “Hollow Rock Lilly” pattern c.1775.
This pattern spanned the period from 1758-1780 and this particular example appears to date to c.1775/1780. This is determined by the rather formal nature of the painting.
See BFS P.157 1.C.11 for a saucer dish with similar decoration.
The saucer measures 13.8 cm in diameter and is marked to the base with a painted open crescent confirming the later date, Earlier examples of this pattern can be found marked with a workman’s mark.
Condition is excellent with no chips, cracks or restoration.
