A Very rare Lowestoft porcelain teapot and cover, hand painted with Tulips and Floral sprays by the Tulip painter c1770-80.
This teapot is unusual as it has tulips painted to both sides of the pot. Usually the tulip is only painted to one side with a floral spray to the other.
The teapot measures 18.6cm in diameter including the handle and spout, and stands 13.8cm tall.
Displays very well with professional restoration to a short body crack to the right of the spout and another to the rim.
Unmarked.
The V&A doesn’t have an example of this pattern in their collection, However this is a similar example.
