A Very rare first period Worcester porcelain moulded spoon tray, hand painted with the Rock Warbler pattern c1754-60.
It measures 15.3cm in length by 8.3cm wide.
Excellent condition except for a chip to the rim.
Marked to the base with a workman’s mark.
Two other Worcester spoon trays are known with this moulding. One also decorated with the Rock warbler pattern was sold at Bonhams part of the Sutherland collection. The other is decorated with the Listening Bird pattern and was sold at Bonhams part of the Billie Pain collection lot 190 for a hammer price of £5,800.
