Very Rare Reeded Teaware Centre Pattern Coffee Cup & Saucer c1754

A Worcester porcelain reeded coffee cup and saucer decorated in underglaze blue with the Reeded Teaware Centre pattern c1754

The coffee cup measures 8cm across including the handle and stands 5.5cm tall. The saucer measures 12cm in diameter

The cup and saucer displays beautifully however there are several tiny chips to the cup and the saucer has two fine hairlines from the rim and a crack through the centre with a tiny chip.

Both cup and saucer are marked to the base with matching workman’s marks.

See BFS 1.E.5 for a saucer illustrated with this pattern. Described as very rare, few examples are known to still exist and whilst this example has some damage, its rarity far outweighs the condition and it would make a fine addition to any good collection of early Worcester porcelain.
