Very Rare Profile Bud Pattern Tin Glazed Coffee Cup c1750-70

A probably Liverpool Delft coffee cup, hand painted in blue with the profile bud pattern c1750-70.

The cup measures 8cm in diameter including the handle and stands 6.3cm tall.

The handle has been broken off and into three pieces and re stuck. There are chips to foot and wear to the rim.

This pattern was used in Liverpool by Philip Christian and the Pennington brothers. It is known that these potters made earthen wares as well as porcelain. Maybe this cup was made at one of these works, or possibly another in Liverpool.
