Very Rare Floral Pattern Pickle Dish c1770

A very rare Lowestoft porcelain pickle dish, hand painted with polychrome enamels with a floral pattern c1770.

Polychrome pickle dishes are very rare as the acid in the pickle reacted with the onglaze decoration.

it measures 9.4cm wide by 10.8cm including the stalk.

No cracks or restoration. Minor chips to the serrated edge.

Unmarked.

There are no examples of these coloured pickle dishes in the Norwich Castle or Victoria and Albert Museums collections.
