A Very rare Lowestoft porcelain knife and fork, hand painted with a floral pattern c1765-75.
The Knife measures 28.7cm in length including the blade.
The Fork measures 21.8cm in length including the metal fork.
There is professional restoration to cracks on both of the handles. This is very common as the metal fastnings cause stress on the porcelain.
I have not found an example of either in the V&A or Norwich Castle museum collection. I have been told that the Oulton Broad Museum Have a Knife, but not yet a fork.
Severial different patterns are found as well as ever rarer moulded examples. This knife and fork have matching patterns.
