An early and very rare Lowestoft moulded sauceboat, hand decorated in underglaze blue c1758-60.
The sauceboat measures 16.9cm in length including the handle and stands 9cm tall at the top of the handle.
A 2.5cm hairline crack to one side of the handle, and two other shorter cracks running from the left side of the rim, all of these are extended firing cracks. Three chips to the left side rim also. No restoration.
Marked with a crescent mark to the inside of the foot.
