A very rare Caughley porcelain ice cup c1790, hand painted with the Chantilly Sprigs pattern c1790.
The cup measures 7.5cm in diameter including the handle and stands 6.2cm tall.
Excellent condition.
Marked to the foot with an S mark
A similar cup is illustrated by Geoffrey Godden in English Blue and White Porcelain (2004), pl 585. Another was exhibited in the Caughley Porcelains Bi-centenary Exhibition catalogue, held at Shrewsbury Art Gallery in 1976 pl 19.
