Unique Fish Pattern Teapot and Cover c1775-80

A unique Lowestoft porcelain teapot and cover, hand painted in polychrome enamels with carp c1775-80.

This pattern is directly copied from a known Chinese pattern. It may have been made as a replacement or for a single service.

The Teapot measures 20.5cm in diameter including the handle and spout, and stands 14.5cm tall.

There are two chips to the cover and one to the rim of the pot. These could be easily restored if required.

Unmarked.

Exhibited by the Ceramic circle in 1977.
