Uncommon Mansfield Pattern Butter Tub, Cover and Stand c1760-80

Availability: In stock

A first period Worcester porcelain butter tub cover and stand, hand painted with the Mansfield pattern c1760-80.

The Tub measures 11.5cm in diameter and stand 6.3cm tall with the cover in place.

The Stand measures 16.8cm in diameter.

The finial has been broken off and reattached, there is also a restored rim chip to the cover next to one of the handle openings. The ub it’s self is in excellent condition but has slight staining to the handles. There is a rim chip to the stand, mostly to the reverse.

The tub and cover are unmarked, the stand is marked to the base with a crescent.

Although this pattern is commonly found on tea wears, this is the 1st butter tub I have come across decorated with the Mansfield pattern.
