A Lowestoft porcelain sparrow beak jug, hand painted with a floral pattern by the so called Tulip painter, c1780-90.
The jug measures 8.1cm in diameter including the handle and stands 9.2cm tall.
The jug displays very well, with a bright floral pattern and painted rim. There is minor wear to the painted rim from use. There is also a chip and an underglaze chip from manufacture to the foot, and a 1mm hairline to the beak join.
