A fine 18th century Caughley coffee pot of large size transfer printed with the “Temple” pattern c.1785
See Caughley Blue & White Patterns published by The Caughley Society P.180 Item E43 for a discussion on this pattern. Whilst it is deemed to be a common pattern, coffee pots of this size and quality are very hard to find.
The pot stands 26.5 cm tall including the domed cover and measures 20.0 cm across including spout and handle.
Condition is excellent with the body being in fine condition and the domed lid with two fine hairlines and some small chips. The gilding is very good with just slight rubbing to the rim and the the finial.
Underglaze S Mark to the base.
