Seth Pennington Scolding Woman Pattern Teabowl and Saucer c1780-90

A Liverpool porcelain Seth Pennington porcelain teabowl and saucer hand painted with the Scolding Woman pattern c1780-90.

The Teabowl measures 8.2cm in diameter and stands 4.7cm tall.

The Saucer measures 13cm in diameter.

Condition is excellent with no chips, cracks or restoration.

This pattern is one of several Liverpool patterns associated with with the so-called HP group, some of which are marked with the initials HP. See Hillis p.501 for a discussion on this interesting group of wares.
