An 18th century Bow porcelain shell moulded salt, hand painted with the Grapevine pattern c1758-65.
The salt measures 9cm in diameter by 9.7cm and stands 5.5cm tall.
Excellent condition, except for a 3mm hairline to the rim.
Unmarked.
This salt is unusual standing on only 3 peg feet. Bow salts are usually mounted on shell bases.
The V&A has some of bow salts with shell bases.
