An 18th century Lowestoft porcelain large mug with flared base and scroll handle with thumb rest c1768-75.
Painted in blue with a large vignette of flowering plants among pierced rocks, a diaper border reserved with flowerhead panels inside the rim and a blue line border to the foot.
See Bonhams sale of the Sutherland collection October 2007 Lot 350 for a bell-shaped mug with similar decoration.
The mug stands 14.2 cm tall and measures 14.5 cm across including handle.
The condition is very good having had several fine hairlines professionally restored.
Workers mark to foot rim, possibly an 11.
