A Liverpool porcelain small size teapot decorated in fine polychrome enamels with The Koto Player pattern c1765
One of a number of superb, finely painted chinoiserie patterns to be found on Christians porcelain showing a musician playing a Chinese instrument watched by a lady, a child and a dog.
The teapot measures 16.5cm across including spout and handle and stands 11.5cm tall.
Condition is excellent with the body of the teapot in fine condition. There is evidence of very good restoration to a section of the rim of the cover.
See Maurice Hillis Liverpool porcelain Pg 248 for a spoon tray in this pattern.
Ex David Olliver Collection.
