A Liverpool porcelain coffee cup, probably John Pennington. Hand painted in onglaze colours with a Pink Rose and Flower Sprays pattern. C1780-85.
The cup measures 9cm (3 9/16″) in diameter including the handle and stands 7cm (2 6/8″) high.
The cup is in excellent condition with no damage or restoration. There is some kiln dirt to the glaze, an under decoration chip to the rim and a line (possibly a glaze crack) to the right of the handle above the smaller rose, this doesn’t go through to the inside.
