A first period Worcester porcelain small size teapot hand painted in underglaze blue with the Mansfield pattern c1760-65.
The teapot measures 17.5cm in diameter including spout and handle, and stands 12.4cm tall.
Excellent condition.
Marked to the base with the Worcester crescent
See BFS 1.E.1 for a discussion of this pattern which was extremely popular during the period from 1756 through to 1780. This popularity caused several 18th century factories to copy the pattern including Derby, Bow, Lowestoft and Plymouth.
