An English soft paste porcelain teapot, believed to be made by the Caughley factory, C1780. It seams I still need to work on the differences between Worcester and Caughley. Thank you Roderick Jellicoe or your help with this.
The teapot measures 18.8cm (7 3/8″) in diameter including the spout and stands 14.8cm (5 13″) high with the cover in place.
It is in excellent display condition, however there is slight damage to the end of the spout and a crack to the cover. The damage to the spout can’t be seen if the pot is displayed with the handle to the right. The pattern of the cover does a very good job of hiding the crack.
From a private collection of 18th and 19th ceramics.
