Mandarin Parrot and Butterfly Pattern Coffee Cup and Saucer, C1785.

A Lowestoft porcelain coffee cup and saucer, hand painted in onglaze colours with a Mandarin Parrot and Butterfly pattern, C1785.

The coffee cup measures 8cm (3 1/8″) in diameter and stands 5.9cm (2 5/16″) high. It displays extremely well, but has a under glaze dent, and a small slither chip to the rim. There is no other damage or restoration.

The saucer measures 11.7cm (4 5/8″) in diameter. It is also in excellent display condition, except for a 3mm hairline running from the bottom right stilt mark, one other small hairline to the left of this and a manufacturing fault to the body of the saucer (this can only be seen from the back).

Both parts are unmarked.
