Mandarin Boy Waving Goodbye Pattern Sparrow Beak Jug, C1770-80.

A Lowestoft porcelain sparrow beak jug, hand painted in onglaze colours with the Boy Waving Goodbye pattern, C1770-80.

The jug measures 8cm (3 1/8″) in diameter including the handle and stands 8cm (3 1/8″) high.

It is in fair condition but does have some faults. The beak has been off and re stuck. There are also three fine hairline cracks and two chips to the rim, and three chips to the foot, and a firing crack to the base of the handle.
