A popular pattern on Liverpool porcelain. Examples can be found on pieces from John and Seth Pennington and Philip Christian as well as James.
See HILLIS – Liverpool Porcelain 1756-1804 for examples from all the above factories. The attribution to James Pennington of this cup is based on handle shape, body profile, foot shape and the dark tone of blue to the leaves.
The cup stands 6.3 cm tall and measures 7.7 cm across including the handle.
Condition is good with just a small, flat chip to the rim, no cracks or restoration.
Unmarked.
