John Pennington Lady and Servant Pattern Teapot and Cover c1770-75

£145.00

Availability: In stock

An 18th century Liverpool porcelain Mandarin Pattern teapot and cover from the factory of John Pennington c1770-75.

It measures 20.7cm in diameter including the handle and spout and stands 17.6cm tall with the cover in place.

Displays well. There is a tiny chip to the tip of the spout, a crack to the body near the handle, this looks to have started as a firing crack and spread due to hot water shock. The finial of the cover has been broken off and reattached, and there are two sections of restoration to the rim of the cover.

Unmarked.

A Teapot of this shape but decorated in a different pattern can be found in the Victoria and Albert Museum
