A fine 18th century Liverpool porcelain coffee cup hand painted in enamels with the “Drunken Family” pattern c.1780.
This pattern can be found on both Seth and John Pennington porcelain but the shape of this cup and the handle suggests an attribution to John Pennington.
See HILLIS P.346 8.64 for a trio in the same amusing pattern.
The cup stands 6.0 cm tall and measures 7.2 cm across including handle.
Unmarked.
