Attribution of this particular example is tricky since several Liverpool factories produced similar shaped dishes. Both William Reid (1756-1761)and James Pennington (1763 -1773) produced similar shaped items but James Pennington included a moulded insect in most of his offerings. This dish has a small insect so the likelihood is that the dish was made by James Pennington.
