A pretty Lowestoft small creamer of Dolphin Ewer form painted in Imari style with red and blue flower displays enhanced with gilding c1770.
This form of decoration is quite rare on Lowestoft porcelain with most examples being found with English style flower sprays including some with “Tulip Painter” style decoration. This pattern is also regarded by some as a “Redgrave” pattern.
Examples can be found in many good English collections sold at auction over the last twenty years
The creamer stands 7.1 cm tall and measures 8.9 cm across including the handle
It is wonderful display condition with no chips or cracks. Unfortunately the handle has been broken off and re stuck.
