Fisherman and Billboard Island Pattern 6 1/2″ Sauceboat c1760-65

An 18th century Worcester porcelain sauceboat, hand painted in underglaze cobalt blue with the Fisherman and billboard Island Pattern c1760-65.

The sauceboat measures 16.7cm in length including the handle and stands 8.8cm tall.

It is in good display condition. There is a crack to the top handle joint, 2 3mm chips to the lip, and 3 firing crack to the foot (the longest is 6mm). There is no restoration.

Marked to the base with an open crescent mark.

This pattern can be found on page 107 of Worcester blue and white porcelain by Branyan, French and Sandon Pattern I.B.15 and is listed as uncommon.
