A fine and rare Lowestoft sucrier with cover and flower knop transfer printed in underglaze blue with the Fence pattern c1770-75.
Whilst the Fence pattern is common on Worcester porcelain it is far rarer on Lowestoft wares but is easily recognised from the shade of blue and the nature of the floral knop with the petals surrounding the flowerhead being tightly closed as opposed to being open on Worcester examples.
The base is marked with a crescent in direct imitation of the popular Worcester mark from post 1760.
The sucrier stands 13.5cm high and measures 9.2cm in diameter.
Condition is excellent with no chips, cracks or restoration.
