Early Two Handled Sauceboat Landscape Pattern Two Handled Sauceboat c1755-60

A Worcester porcelain moulded two handled sauceboat, hand painted in underglaze blue with floral sprays and landscape scenes c1755-60.

This crips moulding of this example indicates an earlier example as the mould wore with each use.

The sauceboat measures 18.8cm in length by 18cm in width including the handles and stands 9cm tall at the top of the handle kick.

Excellent condition without damage or restoration. Two manufacturing flaws to the rim, and underglaze firing crack to the inside (to the left of the left hand tree).

Marked to the base with a workman’s mark.

There isn’t a blue and white example of a Worcester two handled sauceboat within the V&A’s collection. For a polychrome example within their collection
