Early Hughes Moulded Teabowl and Saucer, C1760.

A Lowestoft porcelain Hughes moulded teabowl and saucer, C1760. Hand painted in underglaze blue with landscapes with in panels. This example is an early one as the molding is very crisp. As the moulds got used the moulding got less crisp due to were to the moulds.

The teabowl measures 7.8cm (3 1/16″) in diameter and stands 4.3cm (1 11/16″) high.It is in excellent condition except for a slither chip to the foot.

The saucer measures 12.8cm (5 1/16″) in diameter. It is un damaged, there are stilt marks to the rim from manufacture.

The saucer is unmarked, the teabowl has an indistinguishable mark to the inside of he foot.
