An early and scarce reeded bucket shape coffee cup and saucer, hand painted with a central spray and border pattern c1762-65.
The Coffee cup measures 8cm in diameter including the handle and stands 6.2cm tall.
The Saucer measures 12.5cm in diameter.
Professionally restored crack to the coffee cup. Stilt marks to rim the saucer from manufacture.
Both parts marked with a dash or 1 to the foot.
Ex Howell Collection, labels to both bases.
An example of this rare shape coffee cup was sold at Bonhams, part of the Geoffrey Godden collection of blue and white porcelain, lot 136. Hammering at £1700.
