A rare and good Chelsea porcelain reticulated plate beautifully decorated with English flower sprays c1755.
This plate has a basket weave central area with a large spray of pink roses amongst leaves and other small flowers with further sprigs of leaves and flowers.
The plate measures 24.0 cm in diameter.
To the base of the plate is a red anchor mark and three stilt marks confirming the attribution to the Chelsea porcelain factory.
The plate is in excellent display condition with evidence of a restored hairline and some overspray to the reticulated border. Two factory flaws in the rim have been overpainted with small leaves. This practice was fairly common in the 18th century and confirms some of the issues the factories had with firing larger pieces of porcelain.
