Cannonball Pattern Coffee Cup and Saucer c1760-70

£175.00

Out of stock

A good Worcester coffee cup and saucer hand painted in underglaze blue with the “Cannonball” pattern c.1760
A very popular pattern used by many 18th century factories including Bow, Derby, Plymouth, West Pans and several of the Liverpool manufacturers.
This example dates to about 1760/65 having the early painted Worcester crescent mark to the cup and an early letter W mark to the saucer. This mark should not be confused with later script W mark which was used in the late 1770’s

The cup stands 6.2 cm tall and measures 8.0 cm across including the handle whilst the saucer is 12.3 cm in diameter

Condition is excellent with no damage to either cup or saucer. A pristine piece of English 18th century porcelain.
