A Worcester porcelain Patty Pan hand painted in underglaze blue with The Bare Tree and Speared Bird Pattern c1758
The pan measures 10.6cm in diameter and stands 2.5cm tall
Small rim chip and associated small hairline having been professionally restored
There is a workmans mark to the base confirming the date of manufacture as pre-1760. Later examples of this pattern would be found with the Worcester crescent mark.
See BFS 1.B.38 for a discussion on this pattern where it is stated that the pattern is only to be found on patty pans and no other objects. This is most unusual since the collector will know that most patterns of this period can be found on a wide selection of different objects.
