A very rare Longton hall porcelain leaf shaped dessert stand, hand painted in onglaze polychrome enamels with Chickens c1756-60.
It is unusual to find Longton hall dishes painted with such an English country pattern, fancy birds and flowers are more commonly found.
The dish measures 20cm in width by 21cm including the stalk.
Good condition with only a slightly extended firing crack to the rim, overpainted with a leaf and birds in flight. Two restored chips to the reverse side rim.
Unmarked.
Ex Denise Skipwith collection.
