A Very rare Worcester porcelain twelve sided teabowl and saucer decorated in onglaze enamels with two strutting birds and flowers c1752-53.
The Teabowl measures 8cm in diameter and stands 4.6cm tall.
The Saucer measures 12.2cm in diameter.
Both parts display wonderfully. The teabowl has a firing crack to the inside which caused a crack to run upwards to the rim, this has been professionally restored along with a small chip. The saucer is undamaged.
Simon Spero wrote that these twelve sided teabowls where not intended for use. Personally I dispute this as the shape of the bowl fits very nicely to the lips.
Unmarked.
