The Indian Fisherman Pattern Teapot and Cover c1754-56

£3,050.00

Out of stock

An 18th century Worcester porcelain moulded teapot and cover, hand decorated in underglaze cobalt blue with The Indian Fisherman Pattern c1754-56.

The teapot measures 18cm in diameter including the handle and spout and stands 12.7cm tall with the cover in place.

It is in excellent condition without damage or restoration. There is a firing crack to the inside of the spout from manufacture. This crack is stable and doesn’t meet the end of the spout, or come through to the outside.

Marked to the base and inside of the cover with a matching Workman’s mark.

Interestingly the moulding of this example is completely different to the example shown in BFS I.B.22. It is also different to the example in the Victoria and Albert Museum and an example sold recently at Bonhams
or the Susi and Ian Sutherland Collection sold at Bonhams
