An early Lowestoft porcelain pickle dish c1760-62.
Of vine leaf shape, the underside moulded with veining and the rim serrated, this pickle dish is painted in underglaze blue with a flowering plant and a “Berry” border to the rim.
See Bonhams Fine Glass and British Ceramics auction May 2nd 2018 Lot 392 for an almost identical pickle dish.
There is a painters numeral either 6 or 9 inside the foot rim.
The dish measures 9.2 cm across and 9.3 cm long including stalk handle.
Condition is very good apart from a professionally restored firing crack around the foot rim.
